ROTC- Every Sunday Night @ the Boom Boom Room

ROTC (Return of the Cypher) is a freestyle jam session which occurs every Sunday night @ the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco. The Gem Stone band provides live instrumentation and veteran DJ Kevvy Kev holds down the ones and twos. Special featured guests rock almost every week. Myself, Orukusaki, Slice 9, and MC Mars usually alternate as hosts. All MC’s and vocalists are encouraged to attend and participate in the cyphers, which probably takes up more than 2 and a half hours of each Sunday night. Oh, and it’s absolutely free!

If you are an emcee, you have to be willing to freestyle… period… it’s just part of the craft. And this is the perfect boot camp/ church/ gym/ whatever you want it to be!

Interview on Vietnamese Television

Kensho Kuma and Cloud NI9E were featured on “Sharing Vietnam” on VTC 10; it’s a nationally broadcasted program in Vietnam. We were invited to the television studio before our Hanoi CAMA ATK show during our Asia tour last summer, and the original interview aired 09/11/2013. Thank you to Ms. Phuong Lien and the VTC10 crew for doing such a phenomenal job. I’ll probably upload the unedited version to my youtube account as well.

Short Set @Flow Lounge 05/14/25

Yours truly will rock a short set on 05/14/25 at the Flow Lounge event at Club Cali on Telegraph Ave, Berkeley.

Every Wednesday, NGO Hip Hop for the Future throws the Flow Lounge party. The event features a Rap writing contest, where MC’s write two 16’s on a specific topic, and the winner is selected by the people. (The topic and instrumentals are chosen beforehand.) If you’re interested in participating, please write HHFTF’s page above).

This is when I won several weeks ago!! The topic for that week was educational reform.. so I had more than enough material to go in..

Shout outs to Khafre Jay, DJ Lex, Do Dat, and Frank Stickems, for providing a space where MC’s can MC!!
