Counter Balance Article

by

Counter Balance is the official blog Word, Beats & Life, a non-profit organization that is based in Washington D.C. They stand for the “transformative power of hip-hop culture in all its forms, empowering artists to relentlessly create and refine systems that demonstrate positive change through our individual and collective brilliance.” Counter Balance was kind enough to review and give accolades to my Immigrant Anthem song and you can read the article here.

Yours truly will be hosting the Flow Lounge weekly event on April 1st, 2026. Flow Lounge is where Hip Hop culture resides in the East Bay.. it’s organized by the NGO Hip Hop for the Future and occurs every Wednesday night at Cali’s Sport Bar on Telegraph in Berkeley.. we have an open mic where hella MC’s come through and spit, regular featured performers, and a rhyme writing contest where $300 in prize money is given out. If you’re interested in competing in the contest, please read this post.. and good luck.

I’m making this an unofficial ROTC reunion.. if you were in our rhyme infantry at Return of the Cypher during the near decade we had the event going, it would be great to cypher with you again. Please where your dog tags if you still have ’em!!

Kensho Kuma featured on the Creative Sober podcast

Peace. The Creative Sober is a podcast and community, which places the spotlight on individuals on the path of recovery. Of course, there are artists on this journey, and my song Serenity Prayer was featured on their recent podcast. This song from my latest release Ikigai is dedicated to anyone who has experienced addiction and lived to shared their experience and also our fallen angels that we lost along the way.

Back to School Drip Fest 09/30/23

by

I will be rocking at the Back to School Drip Fest, organized by Khafre Jay’s Hip Hop for the Future org, on 09/30/2023, with DJ Lex and headliners La Russell and Stunnaman 02.

About the event

At Hip Hop For The Future SPC. and Freedom Forward, we see philanthropy as more than just a name on a banner. It’s about fostering real, tangible change in our community. The Back 2 School Drip Fest, our upcoming event, aims to empower San Francisco’s marginalized youth.

We believe that authentic philanthropy is not about levels of giving or the names on banners. True philanthropy is about fostering real change, driving impactful initiatives, and engaging with the community at the grassroots level. It is about stepping up to ensure that those who need the most support are given every opportunity to thrive. It’s about the belief that by investing in our youth, we are investing in our future.

We are seeking partners and sponsors – for the Back 2 School Drip Fest. Companies who are ready to stand with us, to stand with our youth, and to stand with our community. Partners who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and contribute meaningfully to an event far beyond a single day. Let’s move beyond conventional sponsorship. Let’s blaze a trail for transformative change together. Join us and participate in this journey toward a brighter future.

Featuring free clothing and footwear, free barbering, haircuts, and styling (because when you look good, you feel good), community resources, health & wellness services, food trucks, and local Hip Hop artists showcasing live music, art & dancing.
